EMDR & Trauma

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR  is a therapeutic technique that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. My clients and I continue to be amazed at the rapid results we see from this technique. EMDR shows that the mind can heal and move towards mental health just as the body heals and moves towards physical health. When a bone is broken the body works to heal the break. In the same vain the brain moves towards mental health once a blockage resulting from a trauma is removed.
